Dear Students,

As you may be aware, external Quality Assurance Bodies accredit the qualifications offered by BMT College. The curriculum of our qualifications therefore have to conform to the strict standards set by these bodies. Part and parcel of their job is to ensure the credibility and acceptability of qualifications and subsequently the graduates who complete such programmes.

In light of this, we wish to inform you that the required pass-rate for all assignments is 65%, to conform to the new standard. This will include all forms of assessment, i.e. formative, summative, projects and final integrated summative assessments (FISA).

Full qualification rules:

Students who have enrolled for a full qualification will need 65% for all assignments.

Skills programmes/ Short course rules:

Students who have enrolled for a professional skills programme or short course will need to pass all outcomes of an assignment and achieve an overall average of 65% per assignment.

These changes took effect 1 February 2014. PLEASE NOTE: This new policy does not affect any of your assignment marks prior to 1 February 2014.

Please do not hesitate to contact the College at 010 010 0936 or info@bmtcollege.edu.za, if you have any queries regarding the new assignment pass rate policy.

Kind regards,

Mrs C. van Wyk
